Red and White

Good morning to you all today hope you are well.  Today sees the start of a new challenge at Delightful Challenges and the theme this week is:

RED AND WHITE

Nice and easy with Valentine's Day just around the corner. although it does not have to be a Valentine project just as long as it is red and white!  Here is what I have done:

The image I have used is:

She has been coloured with my Copics and cut and matted with Spellbinders.  I have used white pearl card for the background and embossed it with Tied Together EF from Couture Creations and then put the red hearts (which were out of the mat I used for Lara) and pearls on.  The bottom half has been embossed with a hearts EF.  The sentiment I used is:

I have used a Nellie Snellen die to cut the heart out and Fired Brick DI to colour it in.  I cut two more hearts out from felt. The ribbon, button and twine are from my stash.

Our sponsor this week is:

Sunglasses please!

Good morning everyone mid week already! Thought I would share a bright card today to cheer us up now we are approaching the end of January:

I have used a Bildmalarna stamp I think she is going to cheer someone up with that big bouquet of flowers! She has been coloured with Copics and a bit of Stickles added to the trim on her dress and leggings.  The papers are First Edition from the Hideaway Collection.  I followed the sketch over on Papertake Weekly - a brilliant sketch thank you!  The border die is a new Cheery Lynn one on its first outing, I don't think it will be its last either.  The sentiments are from Lili of the Valley and I have tied them on with some crochet cotton.  I used Spellbinders to cut and mat the image and distressed the Decorative Labels 8 die with some Shabby Shutters DI. The doily is French Pastry Doily die by Cheery Lynn - my favourite doily.  The ribbon came from Kath I was lucky enough to win some of her recent candy - thank you.  The heart button is from my stash I have tied some more crochet cotton onto it.  The butterfly is two new Memory Box dies.

I know I have mentioned it before but we have three cats - Cleo (17), Harry (10) and Louis (about 8). We have had problems with Harry for the last few months his teeth were bothering him and he was over grooming (pulling his hair out).  Well we finally seem to have got him back on track his coat is now lovely and thick again and he is managing to eat without having to have his teeth removed!  Cleo then became unwell and she was at the Vets last week and she has renal failure and the vet told us that she only had about two weeks.  She is still going strong and really enjoying her new food the vet started her on.  Now Louis has become ill!!  We noticed he was a quieter than normal a few weeks ago and then last week he went off his food.  He is a gorgeous cat, he was a rescue cat and a giant of a cat but the most gentle and softest cat you could ever meet.  He was at the vet yesterday and had some blood tests done.  His heart rate is very rapid and she thinks it may be thyroid problems.  I am hoping it is so that it can easily be sorted with some medication as I hate seeing him so quiet - fingers crossed, we will find out today.

Thanks for visiting me today I really appreciate it! See you tomorrow, take care xx

Home Again

Good morning all hope you are enjoying your weekend wherever you are.  I got home yesterday from spending a week in London with my gorgeous little grandsons - totally exhausted but so worth it!!

Before I went I actually  managed to sort out my craft room so it was like coming home to a new craft room, I have never seen it so clean and tidy now the problem is to keep it that way!!  As I haven't been crafting for over a week I don't have a new card for today but I do have one I made a while ago and haven't posted before:

Yes a card for a man so not much in the way of embellishments, I think I tend to put either buttons or stars on my male cards!! These buttons are a Dienamics die and the twine is from my stash. I have no idea where the papers are from, possibly Papermania??  The stamp is an old one I have from Inkadinkado and they also made the one I used for the band across the card stamping it several times.  The sentiment is computer generated and I have used Spellbinders for the image and sentiment. The border has been made using Spellbinders Edgeabilities.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Allsorts - Masculine
Jellypark Friends - Button Up
Glitter n Sparkle - Male Card
Here Comes the Boys - Bingo (Buttons, twine, image)

Well I am going to have a jolly good play in my "new" craft room today!!  I am also going to catch up with you all today, I did take my I Pad with me so I have been able to do some visiting during the week.  Thanks for looking today, take care xx

Thinking of You

Today sees the start of a brand new challenge at Delightful Challenges and the theme this week is:

THINKING OF YOU
Here is my project:

Ah doesn't he look lonely?  I have used Wendy's cute Sad Pup which comes in this fab set:

The sentiment is also by Wendy called Thinking of you available here:

I have coloured the image with Copics  and cut and matted with Spellbinders. I distressed around the edges whilst it was still in the die with Antique Linen DI.  The papers are Animal Antics by First Edition. I have embossed the panel with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The doily behind the image is a Cheery Lynn French Pastry die.  The corner photo die is Dienamics and the butterfly is a Doohickey die. Ribbon and pearl from my stash.

Our sponsor this week is:

Please go over to Delightful Challenges and see what the rest of the Design Team have come up with you will be glad you did!

Thanks for looking today! Almost weekend hooray!  Take care xx

Fancy Folds

Good morning everyone hope you had a fabulous weekend! They sure go quickly don't they?

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Lexi's Creations and the theme for this challenge is Fancy Folds.  Now a few weeks back I saw a fabulous card on Helen's blog and she had followed a tutorial here for a cake card and I really wanted to have a go.  As soon as I saw the theme for this week I thought what a brilliant opportunity to have a go!  Now my attempt is nowhere near as good as either Helen's or the one on the tutorial but it was my first attempt:

I have used Lexi's Happy Birthday sentiment which is available to purchase at Fairydust Crafts.  I cut the sentiment out with my Spellbinders Label (? which number) die and distressed it with some Distress Ink whilst still in the die.  The gingham paper is Pink Petticoat and the diamond paper is Magnolia but I have forgotten where the flowered paper is from.  I used a Spellbinder die to cut the window out on the candle box and put some acetate in.  The heart border is a Martha Stewart and the flowers are Spellbinders Rose Creations.  I added some Viva Decor to the top of the cake and a diecut butterfly to finish.  Here is a picture of it with the candles in it:

Our sponsor this week is:

So please go over to Lexi's Creations and see what the rest of the Design Team have done for some more ideas. We would love to have you join us for this challenge so get your thinking caps on and get creating and folding!!

Thanks for looking today, take care xx

Clean and Simple

Good morning and a happy weekend to you all.  I am scheduling this as I should be getting ready to drive down to London to see my two little grandsons, hope the roads are ok.  I am going for a week Dave is staying at home on cat duty!

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Card Makin' Mamas and the theme for this fortnight is Clean and Simple.  Now I do not think these cards are easy at all, I know they look it and you would think they are as there is not much on them but that is the problem!  I know I have to hold my fingers back from adding embellishments.

I have used another of my Unity Stamp of the Week stamps and the matching sentiment comes with it.  I have added the sentiment to some cardstock and cut around it.  The image has been stamped directly on the card and coloured with Copics.  I added some black Stickles to the little hearts on the pizza - don't know if this allowed in CAS but I've done it so there!!. The ribbon, twine and button are from my stash.

Our sponsor this week is Meljen's Designs and please remember we are a card making challenge so we would love to see your CAS cards - pop over to the Challenge and have a look at what the others have come up.

Thanks for coming by today, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Take care xx

Sew Stylish

Good morning to you all.  I am still waiting for the snow we only have a very slight dusting here in Blackpool but it is still cold!

I started to make a card yesterday, coloured the image but I couldn't decide on the layout and then I lost interest so I have one I made earlier if you know what I mean!

Its a Unity Stamp I get one every week from their Unity Stamp of the Week its good fun opening up the package to see what the stamp is!  I have coloured it with Copics and distressed the edges with Spun Sugar DI.  The image has been cut out with a Spellbinders rectangle.  The sentiment came with the stamp and I have used a Spellbinders die to cut and emboss it.  The paper is digital by Raspberry Road.  The scissors, tape measure and Vintage Buttons wording are all from an embossing folder which I lightly sanded and then cut out.  The doily is Cheery Lynn French Pastry.  The pom pom ribbon and button are from The Ribbon Girl.  I have used a border punch but you can hardly see it!  The dew drops have been coloured with Spun Sugar DI.  Seam binding and twine are from my stash.  Here is a look at the inside as I normally forget to photograph that:

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
Crafts and Me - Something New (Embossing Folder, Stamp, Ribbon)
Divas by Design - Make it Girly
Loves Rubberstamps - Cute as a Button
Kaboodle Doodles - Buttons
Totally Papercrafts - Embossing of any Kind

Well I hope you weren't too badly affected by the snow if you are in the UK and a big thank you for coming to look.  See you tomorrow - take care xx

Tag You're It!

Good morning beautiful people! Well I went to see Les Miserables yesterday and I must say I didn't really enjoy it that much.  I have never seen it on stage and I remember why now because it is such a depressing tale.  Didn't think the singing was up to much either!  However the acting was excellent and the photography and effects were good  but the cinema was freezing sat there for 3 hours with my coat buttoned up and collar turned up.  I have to admit I am a Phantom girl - love it to pieces and its on at The Empire in Liverpool soon so I am going to try and get to see it again.

Today sees the start of a brand new challenge over at Delightful Challenges, the theme is:

TAG YOU'RE IT!

So we need to see a tag somewhere on your project.  Now I think some of you are going to look at my card and think she hasn't got a tag on hers but believe me I have!! Guess which numpty die cut the sentiment with her tag die upside down - mmmm wonder who??

Not only that but then I covered the bottom of the tag with flowers and ribbon and so you can't see the "tag" part at all - believe me its there!!  I have used the delectable Beatrice Bee:

She has been coloured with Copics and I used my Twinkling H2Os on her wings and heart which is quite luminescent but you can't see it in my picture. I then partially cut her out with a Spellbinders Oval and matted on a Fancy Oval. I have used a sentiment from the Love is in the Air Sentiment Set:

The sentiment was cut out using a Doohickey tag die and yes I know its upside down lol! Other dies I have used are Whiff of Joy Heart Banner Die, Dienamics border die and Lil Inker Heart and Arrow die. The papers are First Edition, flowers from Wild Orchid and pearl string and ribbon from my stash.

Our sponsor this week is:

and the prize for the lucky winner will be:

Yummy!

Please pop over to my team mates at Delightful Challenges and see what they have done. Remember, you don't have to have a Digital Delights image to enter but we love it so much when you do that you can enter it twice.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafting by Design - Use Alcohol Markers + Hearts
Inky Impressions - Tag It
Paper Pretties - Use Ribbon
Digital Tuesday - Flower Power
Pretty Little Ribbon Shop - Flowers and Ribbon

Well hopefully this post will publish as I am scheduling it.  I am going to get my nails done today and then that's it really.  I am off on Saturday to spend a week with my two gorgeous grandsons Harrison and Rafe down in London.  I am driving down on Saturday but there seems to be a lot of snow forecast for Friday/Saturday so I will have to see how it goes!  Thanks for looking and take care xx

Stay warm and cosy

Hello to all of you wonderful bloggers out there! Hope everyone is ok and what do you know we are half way through the working week!  With the current cold weather I thought I would make a card with a warm and cosy feel to it:

Just what the doctor ordered to keep you all snug and rosy!  The rubber stamp is by Unity and the sentiment came with the stamp. I have coloured the image with Copics although there isn't much colouring involved I only used two pens!  I then cut the image out and matted it with my Spellbinders.  I have used a heart embossing folder on the mat too, so it echos the hearts in the paper and on the image.  The paper is First Edition.  The sentiment has been die cut with a Lil' Inker die - love the stitched detail around it. The corner die is a MFT Dienamics. The gems and ribbon are from my stash.  I have followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Papertake Weekly - Baby It's Cold Outside
Creative Moments - Monochrome
Paper Pretties - Use Ribbon
The Perfect Sentiment - Encourage Me + Ribbon

Watch your Fingers!!

Good morning everyone. Well I don't know about the rest of you in the UK but we didn't get any snow here in Blackpool just rain!! I think I am beginning to get webbed feet which brings me on very nicely to my card for today!

This sweet image is called Girl with Goose and it is a digi by Sugar Nellie. Now I don't know about you but I would never get that close to a goose I've always found they have a bit of a nasty streak! I have coloured the image with my Copics and distressed the edges with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  The image has been cut and embossed using my Spellbinders Rectangle Nesties.  The mat has been cut with an EK punch.  The sentiment is by Waltzing Mouse and I have used a Spellbinders Label (not sure which number) die to cut it.  The papers are First Edition Spring Feast.  Ribbon and pearls are from my stash.  I followed the sketch over at Sketchy Colors.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Sketchy Colors - Sketch

Take care xx

Pretty in Lilac

Good morning everyone and hope you are alright on this rainy morning.  We just had a little bit of snow but it didn't stick and now we are back to our usual rain rain rain!! I'd like to give a big welcome to my latest followers:  Susan, Kym and Angie -welcome ladies and a big thank you for joining me.  I am now past 300 followers - wow I think I need to sort some candy out!!

I had a lovely weekend but no crafting so I have a card today that I made a couple of weeks ago:

I have used a Bildmalarna image and lovely lilac! I have coloured her with Copics but her hair is a bit brassy I think! The papers are First Edition.  I cut the image out with Floral Ovals by Spellbinders.  The flower is a Dienamics die and the leaves are a Marianne die.  The sentiment is Hero Arts and I have used Spellbinders dies to cut and mat it as Christine showed on her blog Hope and Chances.  The corner die is a Whimsy and I have used an EK success punch for the border.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Bildmalarna Challenge - Anything Goes
Allsorts Challenge - Dies and Punches
Totally Gorjuss - Spots
Delicious Doodles - Anything Goes using Favourite Colours (Lilac)

I am sick of only having about 6 square inches of free space to craft on and that is sometimes on a chair lol!!

Thanks for looking today I love to see you all, have a great day wherever you are! Take care xx

Spam spam spam spam spam!!!

No its not the Monty Python song I'm singing its me being cheesed off with the amount of spam comments I get on blogger has anyone else noticed an increase this last week? Do I look like I want to buy Viagra, Tramadol or Ativan??? Although if they keep up I might need something to calm me down.  I am getting at least 20 a day this week and they are all for one post which was last April.  At first I thought it might be the title of the post so I went back and changed it but it didn't make any difference.  So I have had to resort to comment moderation as I am getting cheesed off with them - what with spam and these ridiculous adverts all over blogger!! That's my moaning done for the day - hopefully!

Here is a card I made yesterday:

I have used one of the cute little fairies from Lily of the Valley and coloured her with my Copics.  For her wings I went over them with my Twinkling H20s they look so irridescent IRL.  I have added Stickles to the frosting and some Liquid Pearls in Pink to her antennae and the cup cake case.  Now this paper is very old I think I could take it to Antique Roadshow and they would say it was worth a bob or two!  Its from a DCWV Sweet Matstack know idea where I got it from but there are some really pretty papers in and they are very thick almost like card!  The felt flowers have been cut with a Marianne die and added a pearl which I coloured with Copic.  The ribbon, charm and gems are all from my stash.  The sentiment comes with the stamp and I cut it out with my SB banner and distressed it with Spun Sugar DI whilst in the die.  The border is an X-Cut die.  I have followed the sketch over at Sketch n Stash because you know I love them!!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Sketch N Stash - Sketch (My neglected stash is my DP)
Lili's Little Fairies - Two Design Papers and/or Charming (I did both)

Loves Rubber Stamps - Use Dies/Punches
Totally Gorjuss - Anything Goes with Ribbon

Well that's if from me!  Weekend at last whoo hoo! Off to the hairdressers this morning then bridge practice this afternoon and out to the pub for tea.  Family are all coming over for dinner on Sunday so I will be busy shopping and cooking.  Whatever you are doing have a lovely weekend, thanks for coming by I will see you soon. Take care xx

Anyone for Coffee?

Good morning and here we are mid-week already! Don't know where the time flies to.  Well I have broken my poor little Cuttlebug sob sob! I really love it and miss it dreadfully but I would keep cranking too many layers through I blame the extra shims I have in those intricate patterns.  It went ping and the side fell off.  My DH is going to look at it but I think it has gone to Cuttlebug heaven.  I have my Big Shot Pro but he is such a big fella that I use my Cuttlebug mostly just for all the smaller stuff and I think it is a lot easier for embossing. I can't get the hang of embossing with my SB on the Pro it doesn't look as good as with my little bug.  I think I will have to get another this week.

Here is the card I have made for today, another fab Mayzy Art image:

She's called Shawna with Latte and she looks like she needs that to warm her up lol! She's such a stylish girl I had to have her wearing some Louboutins don't know if you can quite catch the red soles!! I have coloured her with Copics and Prismas and then cut her out.  She has been placed on a SB oval embossed with dots and also a SB Floral oval.  The papers are Echo Park called Sweet Day.  The border die is MFT Dienamics and the coffee cup is a C.C. Designs die, I put the band through a crimper to make it look like the bands you get. The ticket is also by C.C. Designs and the corner die is a Whimsy.  Pearls are from my stash and they have been coloured with Copics.  I have followed the sketch over on Sketch Saturday for the layout.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Mayzy Art - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - New (Image, coffee cup die and papers)
Flourishes -New (Image, coffee cup die and papers)

Well I am off to the gym and then taking my Aunt out for lunch - she will be 91 next month! Catch you all later, thanks so much for looking! Take care xx

Chirpie Chirpie Cheep Cheep!

Hello to all you wonderful bloggers out there in cyber space.  For you in the UK are you getting ready for the big freeze that is evidently on the way?? Hopefully it will freeze up all this blasted rain.

I have made a card today using a sketch over at Raise The Bar and I do love my sketches! I love the images of Mayzy Art and bought a few new ones at the weekend (naughty girl) along with some new paper pads!

She's called Bibi's Harmony and I have coloured her with Copics and Prismas.  I decided to make the bird a canary because my mum always had a canary (which was always called Chirpie!).  I cut her and matted her with my Grand Nesties as I made her quite large.  The heart edge is a Martha Stewart border punch but I used it around the edge as explained by Debby.  The papers are from Echo Park called Sweet Day - really pretty pad.  The sentiment I think I got free in a magazine and I have used a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner to cut and emboss it and then coloured it with Memento ink in Cantaloupe.  The little flowers were made with the die from the Spellbinders Homespun set. The pearls and ribbon are from my stash.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Raise the Bar - Sketch
Simon Says Stamp - New Something (Image and Papers)
Mayzy Art Challenge - Anything Goes
Incy Wincy - Something New (Image and Papers)
The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop - Flowers and Ribbon

Well we were back at the gym yesterday which wasn't too bad it felt like ages but it was only two weeks.  Our bridge lessons start again tonight so better find my thinking cap before tonight!  Hope you have a fab day, thank you for looking I will see you all again tomorrow.  Take care xx

Monday 7 January 2013

Howdy Pardner!

Good morning everyone and welcome to the start of a brand new week!  I would like to give a big welcome to Angie my latest follower, thank you Angie great to have you here!

Today sees the start of the first challenge over at Lexi's Creations and the theme is nice and easy - we all like that don't we - Anything Goes!! Here is what I have made:

I have used Cassidy by Lexi which you can purchase here at Fairydust Crafts.  She has been coloured with Copics.  I cut her out and put her over the barn scene which came in the digital paper set I used by Raspberry Road called Barnyard Blowout.  I used my Grand Nestie Rectangles to cut and mat the layers and the hexagon is a die by MFT.  The sentiment is computer generated and then cut out using a pennant die by Lil' Inker.  I distressed all the edges with Vintage Photo DI.

Our sponsor this week is:

Fairy Dust Crafts where you can purchase all of Lexi's designs and loads of other goodies too!
Please go over to Lexi's Creations and see what the rest of the DT have made - some fabulous projects.

Monkey Business

Good morning everyone and a big Happy Weekend to you all!  Its so nice to get up and not hear the pitter patter of rain on the window - for how long this will last I don't know. Evidently here in the Northwest of England we have had the most rain, I only hope they are managing to save some so we can avoid a hosepipe ban in the summer lol!

At Card Makin' Mamas it is time for the first challenge of 2013 which is going to be Anything Goes, nice and easy for you all.  Here is my card:

I seem to have a lot of male birthdays around now so I have gone for a male card.  The image is by Rick St Dennis and has been coloured with Copics.  The paper was loose so sorry don't know who it is by but it seemed to echo the background of the image.  The border is a new one I got at Christmas and is MFT.  The balloons and pennant are dies from Lil' Inker and the sentiment is computer generated.

To enter all you need is a card (we are a card making challenge) so go over to the challenge and get your entry in.

Challenges entered:

Crafts 4 Eternity - Something New (my new border die)
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Fairy Tale Challenge - Animals and Pets
Sparkle and Glitter - New Beginnings (I have used a new die)
Forever Friends - Birthdays

We made it to the pictures the other night to see Life of Pi and it was excellent, the 3D effects were brilliant.  Just a quiet weekend for us just a bit of shopping and that's it.  Hope you all have a good weekend whatever you are doing and you can avoid these nasty bugs that are doing the rounds! Thanks for looking and take care xx

Sweet Things

Hello to you all and wow am I late! Had a lie in today I didn't wake up until 825 when the doorbell woke me! I never sleep in I'm usually up with the lark at 6 and it really throws you when you get up late I feel like I am playing catch up.  After all the Christmas cards I thought I would go with something cute and girly just for a change!

A cute Meljen's Image coloured with Copics, Viva Decor added and also some Glossy Accents to the candles.  The papers are by Wild Rose Studio called Cherry Cupcake.  I have used a Cheery Lynn die for the doily (this is my favourite doily die - just love it), MFT for the flower and border (got if for Christmas - love it), Marianne for the leaf spray and Lil' Inker for the pennant.  The sentiment is a MFT one and the pearl and gems are from my stash. I followed the sketch at Stamp with Fun although the doily is square on their sketch - hope this is ok :-) Ha Ha just went to enter it and the challenge has finished!!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - New (my new MFT border die)

Well that's all for now.  Dave and I are going to see Life with Pi tonight in 3D.  We did go last night but I forgot it was Orange Wednesday so there was a queue around the corner so we turned around and drove back!!

Thanks for taking the time to come and see me as always I really appreciate it! Take care xx

Happy New Year

Well I know I am a day late! I was going to post this card yesterday but after the New Year Eve celebrations I felt a bit delicate so I spent the day on the couch watching TV didn't brush my hair and only had a bath and brushed my teeth at 5 PM!! So here is a New Year's Day card I made for Wendy at Digital Delights:

I have used Champagne Chuck and Grandfather Clock from Digital Delights.  Both have been coloured with Copics and I have added some Liquid Pearls to his champagne bubbles. I made an easel card and used the sentiment to hold it up which is also from Digital Delights.  The clock face is a Tim Holtz die and I have used SB Nesties for the image and sentiment and mats.  The border is a Martha Stewart punch.  The papers are Wild Rose Studio called Man About Town.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Bearly Mine - Something Old (Clock Die) Something New (Image)
Crafty Sentiments - New
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
The Crazy Challenge - Easel Card

I think I will have a relaxing day today and try and do some crafting, it feels like I haven't done any in such a long time I hope I can find Mr. Mojo!  Hope you all had a fabulous time over the holiday period and 2013 is good to you all.  Thanks for looking today and take care!! xx
