Happy Birthday To You!

Good morning hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I got my Christmas cake all done and its now sat under the stairs steeping in brandy! I can't believe today is the last day of September - who stole my year!!

Today sees the start of a brand new challenge at Lexi's Creations.  To celebrate our Fourth Birthday in October and also as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month we want to see:

PINK

Whoo-hoo we just love our pink don't we!! Here is what I have done -

Whenever I think of pink I always think of ballerinas too!  I bought this image on the internet it came on a sheet with others and I am sorry I can't remember where, not Nicecrane where I normally buy this type of image though.  The papers are Nitwits and I have done a fair bit of distressing.  I matted the image on Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles.  The bird cage and bow have been cut out of a chocolate box (empty :-0) using a Cheery Lynn die for the bird cage and Lil' Inker for the bow tie.  Both of them have been given the Frantage treatment too using Aged Rose.  The border is Cheery Lynn Sophia's Heart and I used Centura Pearl.  The sentiment which you can't really read in this photo is from Craftwork Cards.

Our sponsor for this challenge is:

So please go over to the challenge blog for more inspiration from the DT!

I am off to my Aunt's shortly her GP surgery rang her and said the doctor is coming to see her.  She is worried to death that they want to put her in hospital and asked me to be there.  I have tried explaining that they don't go around looking for customers for hospital as they have enough already but she is convinced! She is 91 and very arthritic but apart from that in glowing health and sharp as a razor!

Thank you so much for looking today and any comments that are always so lovely to receive!  I will be back tomorrow (twice) so see you then! Take care xx

Lace and Pearls

Today sees the start of a brand new challenge at Hobbycutz Challenge and the theme this week is Lace and Pearls.  Here is my card:

I have used Elizabeth Bennet by our sponsor this week Sassy Studios.  She has been coloured with Copics and I added some Aged Rose and Shabby White Frantage around the image. For my Hobbycutz laser cut I first painted it with MS Acrylic Paint, added some Versamark and then Frantage in Shabby White and Aged Rose.  There are lots of different laser cuts in the shop here and they are such fun to work with!  I used Spellbinders Grand Nesties Ovals to cut her and matted her onto Grand Decorative Ovals One.  Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page for the heart border all around.  The locket is Spellbinders Love Locket and it has been inked with Brilliance Pearlescent Crimson Ink.  For the flower I stamped a Paula Pascual Script Stamp in the Brilliance and then used SB Rose Creations.  The Cherish bingo card is a Kaisercraft stamp.  Lace and pearls from my stash. Here is another view:

As mentioned our sponsor this week is:

Please go over to the challenge and see what fabulous designs the rest of the DT have done!

Drunken Stampers - Die Cuts

Stamp of the week

Helllllloooooo there! Don't know what happened to the supposed heat wave we were supposed to be having this week!

I have a card that didn't turn out how I planned although I didn't really know how it was supposed to turn out if that makes sense! I belong to Unity's Stamp of the Week club so get a new rubber stamp each week so I thought it was about time to start using them!  I feel I should challenge myself to use one each week and just pick it randomly from the box - that would be  a challenge!

I recently bought my first Spellbinders Embossing folder so I used both sides on the card using Centura Pearl card.  I used a Cheery Lynn Polynesian Sails die to mat the image.  The corner dies are Whimsy and the tag is Cheery Lynn Tags 2.  You do get a sentiment with the image but it was a bit too big for a tag so I used another one from an old rubber stamp don't know the make!  I used Moonglow Embossing Powder for the image, sentiment and also covered the corner dies in it.  The ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.

Challenges I would like to enter:

Make My Monday - Flowers or Trees
Whoopsi Daisy - Ribbons and Bows
One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes
A Creative Romance - Dies or Punches
Chocolate Coffee and Cards - Anything Goes
Keep it Simple - Flowers

I am looking forward to a crafty day today!  I am also going to soak my dried fruit in brandy as I will be making my Christmas cake tomorrow! Whatever you are doing have a fabulous day! Thank you so much for looking and any comment you may leave, take care xx

Challenges I would like to enter:

Sisterhood of Crafters - Use a Digi
Creative Craft - Use Ribbon

That's all from me - short and sweet! Thank you so much for coming to see me and any comments you may leave.  Take care xx

Let's Get Sparkly

Good morning hope you are all well and if not I wish you a speedy recovery!  Last night we went to see Wicked at The Palace in Manchester and it was totally Wicked! Really enjoyed it, we went on the train to save driving so it was a bit late when we got back.

I have used Ellie and Squeak and coloured with Copics and some gems added to the hat.  I coloured the mirri card behind the image with my Alcohol Inks so it would blend in a bit better with the papers.  The papers are digital from The Sweet Shoppe.  I used Whiff of Joy star banner for the banner with glitter card.  The sentiment inside is Penny Black stamped in Brilliance.

and another view

Good morning! I would like to extend a huge welcome to my newest followers: Lena, Eva and Shell so honoured to have you follow me!

I am slowly getting back to normal after my holiday in Vegas and looking after my grandsons.  We had a fab time in Vegas - very girly and giggly!  I took only a couple of pics with my phone not sure if there is anything worth putting on here but I will have a look.  The week with my grandsons was perfect so nice to be able to spend time with them and go on days out.  Now I am trying to catch up with everything and I have loads to do!!

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Lexi's Creations with the theme this fortnight being we want to see your Autumn Colours.  Now I must admit Autumn is my least favourite month with everything dying and looking so sad.  Here is my card, I have tried to go with the colours of the leaves from when I used to live in New England:

The image and sentiment are Unity stamps.  I stamped the image on card and then on some acetate.  On the back of the acetate I had used my Alcohol Inks.  I also cut some leaves out of the acetate using the tiny leaves from SB Homespun set.  The little flowers are Knorr Prandell and they have been coloured with Alcohol Inks too.  I cut the tag out with my Sizzix die and edged around the edge with Victorian Velvet DI.  The papers are MME Wild Asparagus and hae been cut with SB Nesties and Grand Nesties.  Ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.

Clean and Simple

Good Morning, this is my second post today - whew! For my Hobbycutz post please scroll down to the one below.

Today sees the start of a brand new challenge over at A Little Bit Crafty!!  This month we want to see your Clean and Simple creations - remember it can be anything home made does not have to be a card!  I love clean and simple but I do think they are very difficult to do and take longer than normal cards - why is that???  Anyway, here is the card I have made:

A bit of a crummy photo I seem to have an orange glow lol! Anyway my card is made using a Bugaboo image called Flower Shelf.  I paper pieced all the vases I think using Nitwits Petal Fresh.  Coloured with Copics and buttons added to the flowers.  I used Cheery Lynn Tiny Expandable borders to frame the picture and that's it!

We have some fabulous sponsor's this month:

4 Free Digis

Remember you have to be in it to win it! You have almost a month to get your entry in so no excuse is there??

Thanks so much for looking today, take care xx
