Mid-Way Reminder

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  A scheduled post from me to remind you that we are half way through our challenge at A Little Bit Crafty.  The challenge this month is Child's Play.  I was very lucky to have been given a fab set of stamps to play with from one of our sponsor's this month and what child doesn't like playing with trucks!

I took inspiration for my card layout from Mary J at Where's My Creativity she makes the most fabulous cards so have a look at her blog.  The stamp is from a fab set by Woodware Stamps it comes with loads of truck stamps and sentiments.  I used papers from Bo Bunny On The Go and Copics for colouring.  Blueprints by Dienamics for the layout.

Delightful Thursday

Good morning from a lovely and sunny NW England today.  Its Thursday so that can only mean one thing - its time for Delightful Thursday at Digital Delights Blog. This is when the DT showcase some of the fabulous images Wendy has over at the Digital Delights Shop.  Here is my card:

Now I don't like snails, we have so many in our garden, but this is a real cutie and I decided she needed to be done in funky colours!  She is Forgetful Fran and comes with the sentiment and is available to purchase here. I coloured her with my Copics and added some Glossy Accents to her eyes.  The papers are by Nitwits with some Centura Pearl in the centre which has been embossed with a Crafter's Companion folder.  Dies for matting and layering are Cheery Lynn as are the ladybirds.  The sentiment is cut with a Justrite die and ribbon from my stash.

Here is another view:

Over at Delightful Challenges a new challenge has started with the theme Tickled Pink. The sponsor is The Cutting Cafe and the prize is 3 sets from their store for the lucky winner.

Challenges I would like to enter:

Penny's Paper Crafty - Anything Goes
Scapper's Delight - Anything Goes + Layer It Up
Whimsy - Tic Tac Toe (I used middle line: pink and green, die cut and birthday)

Father's Day/Male Card

Good morning and welcome to a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments.  The theme this week is Father's Day/Male Card.  As I no longer have my Father I have gone for this:

I have used Dayna Elephant which is available here from Crafty Sentiments Designs. I coloured Dayna with my Prismas for a change but not sure if I am happy with the result.  The papers are Nitwits and I paper pieced the balloon and bow tie.  I used SB Grand Nestie to cut the bottom of the card shape.  The sentiment is Pink Petticoat which I enlarged and printed directly onto Papermill Linen cardstock.

Here is another view:

Hmmm think I may make another in pink for a baby girl.  We have another great prize this week:

For A Friend

Good morning, did you have a nice weekend?  We had a fabulous one. My son bought up my two beautiful grandsons for the weekend. On Saturday we had a BBQ and my daughter, partner and Rowan came as well as Dave's daughter, husband and Emma and Max came and it was lovely - quite chaotic but lovely! I wanted to get a picture of all three grandsons together but didn't get round to it.  Yesterday we went to the beach before they set off back to London, I have a couple of pictures at the end.

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Lexi's Creations and the theme this fortnight is For A Friend.  Now my card is for my best friend whose birthday is next month (she doesn't look at my blog lol) because the image reminded me of her.  When I made the card I thought the theme was for someone special, hence the sentiment.

Isn't this the cutest image! Its Crafter's Companion Scruffy Little Cat Range called Chelsea.  I coloured her with Copics and some Stickles.  I bought the stamp at Bolton Arena the other week and saw the embossed acetate on a sample there and really liked it.  The embossing folder is also from the same range and I have gone round the edge of the bubbles with Stickles.  Papers are Nitwits Hey Cupcake.  I used my Sizzix die for the Rosette, Martha Stewart border punch, Just Rite Labels 2 for the sentiment and Spellbinders for the image and mat.

Here are some more views:

We are sponsored by Fairydust Crafts so please pop over to Lexis and see the rest of the DT work.

Here is a picture of Harrison at the beach:

he got totally soaked but just loves playing in water, needless to say I got soaked too!

Couldn't get a good one of Rafe at the beach so here he is having his lunch afterwards:

Now I must dash I am going over to my daughter's today. Promise I will catch up with you all later! Thank you sooooo much for looking, take care xx

Surf's Up

Good morning hope your week is going well and a big thank you for all your good wishes for Dave yesterday.  His bone scan was clear and his blood results were only slightly up which is all good news.  It means he doesn't need to start his next lot of treatment just yet.  He will have a further CT and Bone Scan in October so we are keeping on with our Positive Mental Attitude.  Also my daughter is starting to feel better so it was cause for celebration in our house last night!  We know Dave still has the cancer but the longer it goes before spreading the better it is and we intend to get on with life!

Today sees another round of inspiration from the DT over at the Digital Delights Blog and it also coincides with a great new release.  Here is my card:

I got to play with the gorgeous new Beach Babe Britt which is available here.  I coloured her with my Copics and added Glamour Dust to her hat.  The papers are a variety of digital ones I cut using my Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders to look like sand, sea and sky (hopefully.  The starfish is a button I have had for ages I cut the shank off and glued it on.  The little vial I filled with micro beads to look like sand.  Just some little banners and twine to finish off.

Here is another view:

Please take a look at the rest of the release and DT work at The Digital Delights Blog. Also, today sees the start of a new challenge at Delightful Challenges and the theme this week is All Tied Up with the winner receiving a $10 voucher for Scrapyland.

Flower Power

Hello there and a big welcome to Vicky my latest follower - thank you so much Vicky for following me.  This is a scheduled post as Dave and I will be at the hospital first thing to see his Oncologist and he will be giving us the last bone scan results  *:( sad and discussing what's next.

Today sees the start of a new Challenge at The Paper Shelter and the theme this week is Flower Power this should be easy enough I think!  Here is mine:

I used the gorgeous Fantasy Perfumes and as I was a bit tight with time I used the pre-coloured image.  The die is by Die'sire called Decadence and I went over the embossed parts with Spun Sugar DI.  Flowers are MB Phlox and Cheery Lynn Medium Roses.  The paper is Pink Petticoat you can just see it peeking through.

Here is another view:

Well actually the same view just different coloured background!

As usual there is a fabulous prize up for the lucky winner:

Please head over to The Paper Shelter Challenge to see the rest of the DT's work.  Thank you so much for looking today, take care xx

Hold On Tight!

Good morning I certainly hope you had a lovely weekend and are all refreshed for the week ahead! A big welcome to my newest follower Kitten Kraftz what a gorgeous picture of a kitten!

When I took my Aunt and her friend to the hospital their friend was worse than we expected and so we didn't stay too long as she didn't recognise them.  Its such a shame as she is 5 days older than my Aunt (92) and was living independently, going on holiday and meeting up with my Aunt and another lady each week for whist. She has no children either so I don't know what will happen to her.  I think that living to a ripe old age is not so good if you don't have your health.  My Aunt is quite fit but crippled with Arthritis so I have to take her out in a chair and I do her cleaning each week, her son does her shopping. My Aunt's other friend that I took to the hospital is 89 and very mobile, she goes out every day on the bus and goes to WI and managed really well to climb into the back of my two seater car.  If I could be like that I'd be happy!

Well enough of my waffling and the reason I am here is to tell you about a new challenge at Hobbycutz.  This week the challenge is NOT to use any Design Paper - eeeek!  Here is my card:

Our Sponsor this week The Stamping Chef very kindly gave the team images to use - thank you! I have this little cutie called Barn Brat which I coloured with my Copics.  I trimmed the edge of my Burlap with Spellbinders Edgeabilities.  I put the Kraft card through an embossing folder that had been swiped with Brushed Corduroy DI.  The cattail die is Spellbinders I thought it looked like the hay in her mouth!  The little tag is Docrafts which I stamped and added some twine and a horseshoe charm from my stash.  The lasercut is available from Hobbycutz and I stamped it using Versafine ink.

Here is another view:

Kobie is getting some more designs into the shop here is a sneak peek:

This is just some of the new designs there are plenty more!  For more inspiration on this week's challenge please go over to the Challenge and have a look at the rest of the DT's work and then join in the fun to be in with a chance of winning this week's prize from The Stamping Chef.

Child's Play

Good morning hope you are having a lovely weekend.  Can you believe its June already? I certainly can't! As it is the first of the month that means there is a new challenge at A Little Bit Crafty.  The theme this month is "Child's Play".  Remember that the challenge is not only for cards but for all types of crafting.  Here is my card:

Apologies for the sunlight! This was made very last minute and very much in a rush in between going over to Bolton to see my daughter and going to tea at my step-daughter's!  As you can see, I did not centre the mat very well!  The image is a Lili of the Valley that I have had quite a while and she has been coloured with Copics.  The papers are Nitwits "A Breath of Fresh Air" with Papermill Cardstock.  I used the following dies: Spellbinders Edgeabilities for the border, Dienamics Pierced Round Stax for the image, Marianne for the mat and Whimsy for the corners.  Sentiment is also Lili of the Valley which I stamped in Versafine.  I inked the mat with a Versamark pen whilst it was still in the die and used some blue WOW embossing powder and heat set.  It smudged in one place so I had to go over it again - you can still see where it smudged but it looks a bit better.

Here is a side view:

I am taking my Aunt to visit her friend in hospital today, she had a stroke and was on the floor for 3 days before she was found.  I keep on at my Aunt to get an alarm in case something like that happens to her but she won't.  She says if she has one then it will happen! How can you argue with that? I have tried and tried but to no avail!

Thank you so much for looking today I do appreciate it and any comments you care to leave, thank you! Take care xx
