Spring Delights

Good morning hope you are well, if not wishing you a speedy recovery!  Its that time of week when a new challenge starts over at The Paper Shelter. Our theme this week is "Spring Delights" yes its just round the corner now, definitely lighter nights and buds on the trees.

I have used the adorable Spring Attitude which you can get here.  I coloured her with my Copics and used some chalk for the background. The paper is First Edition "Hideaway."  I used Dienamics In and Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle and the sentiment inside is Clearly Besotted. The banner is La La Land, I can't remember what the flower is as I had made it a while ago and used it on this paper but the leaves are made with a Floral Punch.  I must have used my Spellbinders Curved A2 borders on the card front.

Please have a look at the rest of the DT work as they are so talented and make some beautiful cards. Don't forget we still have a DT call running until the 20th March, please go to the Challenge Blog here for all the details.

Hello and welcome to my blog so lovely to see you here. My daughter and Rowan are coming over today so I am scheduling this so I can fit a quick swim in before they get here.

Today sees a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and the theme this week is Be My Valentine.  I have used the super cute How You Doin digi which always reminds me of Joey in Friends saying How YOU doin!

As I said, this digi is called How You Doin and is available here. Don't forget that with The Paper Shelter images you get them both in black and white and coloured form along with a layout so excellent value.  I coloured my image using my Copics.  The papers are Nitwits.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch, Whimsy corner dies and I think the heart is Dienamics from the Hearts a Plenty set.

Card Mania - Add Some Red

All Wrapped Up

A big welcome to my blog today, thank you for calling by.  I hope your week is going well. It has been very cold here in the Northwest, no snow where we are but as we are on the coast we don't really see much of the white stuff here.

We have a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and the theme this week is All Wrapped Up.  I see that as being either all wrapped up with clothes or blankets or perhaps all wrapped up as in presents i.e. gift wrap or maybe it could be a couple of animals or people wrapped up together - lots of possibilities.

I used Enchanted Dream available here.  The birds are going to wrap her up in the blanket so I thought it was a good image for the theme.

Items Used:
Enchanted Dream Image by The Paper Shelter
Copics
Nitwits Daffodil Joy
Go Kreate XXL Frame 10
Dienamics Pierced Circle Stax and Pinking Edge Circle Stax
Cheery Lynn Faerie Mushroom
EK Success Border Punch (you can just see it behind the mushroom)
Spellbinders Grand Nesties Scalloped Circle and Circle Dies
Memory Box Isabella and Pippi Butterfly
LOTV sentiment stamped in Memento London Fog
Glamour Dust

As usual there is a fabulous prize for the lucky winner:

Challenges I would like to enter:

Cuttlebug Mania - Wildlife
Loves Rubber Stamps - The Letter B (I have baby, birds and butterfly)
Papertake Weekly - Use 3 or more different shapes

Well I am doing this post before 0800 and I have already been to the gym! My daughter and Rowan are coming around today so I must dash and do a bit of housework! Thank you so much for looking and the lovely comments you leave, see you soon!

Winter Blues

A big hello to you and thank you for coming! I think things are gradually getting back to normal.  We have now taken all the decorations and trees down, it took two nights and everything looks very bare and big now! I had a wonderful Christmas my daughter, her partner and Rowan stayed over Christmas for three nights so it was lovely to have them.  Rowan is now crawling everywhere and standing up with the furniture, I can't believe he will be 9 months on Friday!  Then my son and two grandsons came up for New Year and I looked after them for a few nights whilst Dad and Mum went off - great fun!  Everything seems very quiet now although my daughter and Rowan are coming over today.

Over at The Paper Shelter we have our first challenge for 2015 and the theme is Winter Blues.  We want to see shades of blue so here is what I did:

I used the little lady from Give Me A Kiss available here.  She actually comes with a little man but I just used her and I used the pre-coloured one too.  My card was made using Go Kreate XXL Frilly Frames 10 and the papers are First Edition Up Up and Away.  La La Land Banner, Spellbinders Tear Drop Circle (think that's what its called), Dienamics Pierced Circle, Sue Wilson Bows made with felt, Cheery Lynn tag and Clearly Besotted sentiment.

As usual there is a fabulous prize for the lucky winner:

Please head over to The Paper Shelter Blog to see the rest of the DT's designs and all the details on the challenge.

Have you made any New Year Resolutions?  I don't make any as I know they would only get broken but I do want to try and get more me crafting in.  I am not on as many DTs now as a few have closed and I have left a few more to give me more crafting time.  I have been quite busy doing some magazine commissions so they have taken a lot of time but I will finish those this week then have more time to craft, well that's the plan!

Thank you so much for looking and your continued support, it means a lot.

Anything Goes

Edit: The comment winner who left a comment on my blog is Lena - congratulations Lena. Lena please go to The Paper Shelter Blog to see how to claim your free image. Thank you to everyone else who took the time out to comment I'm sorry there can only be one winner!

Hello there and a big welcome to my blog.  Today is the last challenge of the year for The Paper Shelter.  This challenge will last three weeks and we will be back on 7th January. In order to give the DT a break there will be no commenting on this challenge.  We will also be back again either later today or tomorrow with the winners from the Celebrations Blog Hop so please check back!  Here is my last card of the year for The Paper Shelter:

I have used the beautiful The Lantern which is available here.  I coloured the image with my Copics which took quite a while and then disaster struck!! I managed to smudge some ink on the background.  After spending quite a while colouring I didn't really want it to end up in the bin so I decided to cover it with Stickles - adapt and overcome!  The image has been cut out with a Spellbinders ornament die and the top is a Memory Box in mirri card to look like metal.  I used my Memory Box Merry Christmas die which I really love but sadly have only used once!

As usual there is a fabulous prize up for the lucky winner:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Veronica, Shirley and Marie for all their help and support over the last year and wish them and my fellow team mates a very Happy Christmas and wonderful New Year.

Challenges I would like to enter:

Well I am finalising my Christmas menus today and perhaps doing a bit of shopping (food) and cooking for the freezer. I hope you have a wonderful day whatever you are doing and a big thank you for all the lovely comments you leave,

A Card For A Child

Happy Wednesday to you all. All has returned to normal here with Rowan going home on Monday and the dogs returning home Saturday.  Lack of sleep was a big factor - four nights without sleep was a lot even for me!! My sister's eldest dog barked quite a lot if he wasn't with me and as I had to have Rowan in with me for feeding it got quite noisy at nights! I thought if Dave slept with them in the spare room things would be ok but it was not to be.  Rowan has baby eczema so I had to keep the dogs away from him as much as possible.  Rowan also had two bad nights too with his eczema bothering him.  Its such a shame because he never cries and is always so happy if wasn't for the eczema.  Anyway I loved having him here it was lovely and now everything seems very quiet.

Today is my daughter's fortieth birthday - Happy Birthday sweetie!! She doesn't really look at my blog that often, too busy with other things.  We are having a family celebration on Saturday and my Son and two Grandsons are coming up on Friday for the weekend so lots more chaos planned!!

Today sees the start of a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and the theme this week is A Card for A Child.  Well I have actually had to buy cards lately as I didn't have suitable ones (i.e. my Daughter's fortieth, Dave's Seventieth and our Anniversary) so I decided to make a card for Max who is 8 next month.  As the card was for Max there was only one image I could use:

Max is a real games enthusiast so I just had to use this image for him.  The image is Mad About Video Games available here. I coloured him in with my Copics and used Dienamics Pierced Rectangle Stax to cut him out.  The papers are MME Fly A Kite.  The border is Spellbinders Edgeabilities Classic Scallop and the Star Festoon is Whiff of Joy.  The 8 was made with Dienamics By the Numbers and Max was made with Sizzix Typeset Alphabet.

As usual, there is a fabulous prize for the lucky winner:

Please have a look at the rest of the DT's work at The Paper Shelter and for all the details.

I am scheduling this post as I am off to Manchester on the train with a friend for some shopping and lunch, no doubt champagne will be involved too - I think I have earned it!! Thank you so much for looking and your kind comments, take care xx

For The Man In Your Life

Hello and welcome! Today sees the start of a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and this week we would love to see your creations For The Man In Your Life.  I decided to do a birthday card for Dave's Son in Law who is a Shrewsbury Town Supporter:

I used the super cute Soccer Star which is available here and I coloured him with my Copics and added some Glossy Accents and Glamour Dust to the confetti around him.  I cut the image out using my Dienamics Stitched Circle Stax and layered it onto a mat made with Dienamics Pinking Edge Stax.  The large frame was made with Cheery Lynn die.  The sentiment is Whimsy and I used the matching die to cut it out.  I made the sentiment into a rosette by using Dienamics Fishtail Stax.

As usual, there is a very generous prize on offer for the lucky winner:

Please pop over to The Paper Shelter and have a look at the wonderful creations from the rest of the DT.

Challenges I would like to enter:

Thank you so much for looking today and sending some big cyber hugs to those of you in special need of them at the moment.

Halloween at The Paper Shelter

Good morning, hope you are well and here's a big hug if you aren't! Today sees the start of a new challenge at The Paper Shelter.  The theme this week is Halloween and I have made a card:

This beauty is called Witching Hour and lives here. I coloured her with my Copics and she took an age to colour!  I added some Glossy Accents to the glass flask, brooch, her eyes and the snake's eyes. I used Go Kreate XL No 1 frames for the card shape and mat.  The sentiment is computer generated and cut out using Spellbinders Ribbon Banners.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid and I coloured the purple ones with my Copics. The paper you can just see is Basic Grey Marjolaine.  I edged around the image with Weathered Wood DI and used a corner rounder punch on the corners.  I also added some black webbed ribbon and a plastic spider from Home Bargains.

As usual there is a fabulous prize for the lucky winner:

Dream Valley - Halloween

Shabby Chic

Hello there. Well I am partied out! We had a fabulous three days of celebrations and now things are returning to normal.  My daughter and Rowan are coming over today I am so looking forward to seeing them (only been Sunday since I last saw them).

There is a new challenge starting today at The Paper Shelter and our theme this week is Shabby Chic.  Whenever I think of Shabby Chic I think of paper distressing, Frantage and pale colours so that's what I did:

Now this adorable Mademoiselle is called Si Belle and can be found here. I coloured her with my Copics and have added some Frantage around the edges, on the pearl button and on the MB Eiffel Tower die cut.  The papers are MME Paris and Co.  I used Marianne die for the mat for the image.  The sentiment is Waltzing Mouse 'Fancy Phrases' which also comes with the frame I stamped around it then used Spellbinders Fancy Tags (don't think you can get these anymore) to cut it out.

As usual there is a fabulous prize up for the lucky winner:
