Second Blogaversary Candy

Christmas Hop at Sassys

Good Morning to you and I hope you have something nice planned for the weekend.  I am scheduling this as I will be in London with my daughter visiting my gorgeous grandsons!

Today its time to hop at Sassy Studio Designs as we have the new Christmas images to showcase. You should of come here from the fabulous Sara's blog if you are just starting out on the hop I will show a full list in order at the bottom of this post.  I was given the gorgeous Candy Cane Sassy to work with and we had to follow the theme of Silver and/or Gold, I chose gold:

Candy Cane has been coloured with Copics and I added Stickles to the bells on her outfit and also the Candy Cane, of course she had to be wearing Louboutins didn't she? I used Centura Pearl and gold mirri card.  The panel behind Candy Cane has been embossed with a snowflake embossing folder.  The snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch and the bells are a CC Cutter die.  The tag is Cheery Lynn Tags 2 and I used a Clearly Besotted sentiment embossed with gold embossing powder.

Here is another view:

From here you need to go over to the very talented Gemma's blog.  If you have gotten lost along the way don't worry here is a full list of the blog hop order:

I have used Digital Delights Christmas Hugs Sentiments which are available here to purchase. The sentiment has been cut using Spellbinders Labels 18.  Here is a side view:

Steampunk

Good morning I hope you are enjoying your weekend - don't they just fly by?  Today sees a new challenge at Hobbycutz and the theme this week is Steampunk!  Not something I do much of but I did have fun doing this one!  We were very luck to get images from our sponsor Sassy Studios to work with and I used Steampunk Amelia, here she is:

I do love colouring in my Sassys and Amelia was no exception! She has been coloured with Copics and some Glossy Accents added to the glass on her goggles.  I haven't used any DPs for the card but embossed the backgrounds on the pearlescent card using two embossing folders Couture Creations Without a Lock and a Sizzix Tim Holtz gear one.  I used Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangles to cut the image out and matted it on a Long Deckled Rectangles (not sure if that is the proper name).  The clock is a Tim Holtz die and the pieces in the upper left and lower right corners were made with Spellbinders Ironworks motifs.    All the Gears are Hobbycutz lasercuts and I have used Perfect Pearls in gold to give everything a sheen!

Here is another view:

Please go over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have made, there are some fabulous projects using Kobie's wonderful lasercuts!

Well I am off to the Trafford Centre today with my daughter and sister, we decided to go today instead of last Sunday. I want to get there a bit early before the crowds!  Thank you so much for looking I will be back tomorrow! Take care xx

Give Thanks

Hello I'm back again! This is my second post today if you would like to see my Digital Delights post, please scroll down.

Today is a brand new challenge at Dare to Be Sassy Thursdays and the theme for this week is Give Thanks.  It is Thanksgiving next Thursday in the U.S. so we would like to see your creations around that theme or being thankful or a thank you card!  Here is mine:

I have used Uhura Sassy and coloured her with my Copics.  Now I must confess that when I saw this image it so reminded me of some white wet look boots that I used to have in 1971 except mine were thigh length (well I was 21)!!  So I have put lots of Glossy Accents in so they look like the ones I used to have.  The papers are Nitwits Thimbles 'n Threads.  I cut and matted the image with Spellbinders wonky rectangles making a faux nestie for the back.  The border is Dienamics Double Scallop Border and the sentiment done on the pc is cut with Dienamics Fishtail Flags Stax and Layers.  The banner is a Poppy die, ribbon and heart from The Ribbon Girl and pearls from my stash.  Here is another view:

Please pop over to the challenge to see the rest of the DT creations.  The lucky winner will win 2 Sassy images of their choice!

I am scheduling this as I am taking my Aunt out to a Christmas lunch at one of the hotels in Blackpool so I hope Mr. Blogger behaves! Thank you so much for looking, take care xx

Candy Cane Jingles

Good morning to you all. It seems like ages since I last blogged - 5 days ago.  I have been busy making some curtains for my grandson's bedroom, baking and wrapping Christmas presents! Not had a lot of time for crafting but I am trying to get all DT projects done for next month as crafting time is getting less and less in the next few weeks, I wish there were more hours in the day!

I have used Candy Cane Jingles which is available here.  I coloured him with Copics and the papers are MME "Merry".  I actually cut Candy Cane Jingles out and matted him on the mat which had been through an embossing folder I think you can just about see the little dots if you squint! The bells are a Memory Box die Bells are Ringing.  Spellbinders Grand Nesties Ovals and Scalloped Ovals for the image and Edgeabilities for the border.  I made the sentiment on the pc and used Dienamics fishtail die to cut it out. The ribbon and charm are from my stash.  I don't know why I put to a Granddaughter as I have two Granddsons.  Here is another view:

Over at Delightful Challenges this week the new challenge is Anything But a Card with a fabulous prize of 3 cutting sets to be won from The Cutting Cafe!  Please pop over to Digital Delights Blog and see what the rest of the DT have done there are some inspirational designs!

I have used the super cute Japanese Cute Doll from The Paper Shelter which is available here. As always with The Paper Shelter images you get a coloured version and one to colour yourself as well as digital paper - brilliant value!  I coloured this cutie with my Copics and then cut her out.  The papers I have had for years and years probably off QVC, I thought they were perfect for the image.  I embossed the panel behind the image with Crafts Concepts Embossing Folder Jo's Circles but first I applied Faded Jeans DI to it.  The mat behind is Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Rectangles. I used Spellbinders Labels 18 to cut and mat the sentiment which I did on my pc.  The flowers were made using Dienamics Mini Royal Roses, Memory Box Small Pinwheel Posie, Cheery Lynn Shasta Daisy and Build a Flower #1.  The butterfly is Memory Box Isabella Butterfly and has been stamped using Faded Jeans DI.  I must say I really enjoyed making this card and I am quite enjoying putting flowers on my cards at the moment.  Here is another view:

Good morning I have scheduled this as I have had to go down to London so I will be with my gorgeous grandsons at the moment!

Today sees the start of a brand new challenge over at Hobbycutz and the theme this week is Glitter and Sparkle - whoopee don't we all just love that!  Our Sponsor this week is Floppy Latte and I have used one of their sentiments:

The papers are Memory Box Mistletoe and Holly.  I have painted the lasercut first then added some Aged Scarlet Frantage to it it looks gorgeous IRL.  The poinsettia is a Marianne Die as is the holly.  I have also used some Aged Hunter Frantage too on the spacer.  Ribbon is from my stash. DTBST 202 Happy Veteran's Day

I am back again, for my Digital Delights post please scroll down.

Sorry this is a bit late but we have only just got back from the hospital and the news could have been better.  Dave will have to go back in four weeks and if things are still the same it will mean another set of MRI and bone scans before deciding what to do.  We are both optimistic that things will be better.

The new challenge at Dare to Be Sassy Thursday is for Veteran's Day.  We do not celebrate this in the UK so I had to have a bit of a look round for some inspiration.  Basically the day is to celebrate the contribution the Armed Services make to the country.  Here is my card:

I have used Sassy Studios Captain Americana and coloured her with my Copics.  I added Glossy Accents to the shield to make it shiny.  The papers are Raspberry Road which I thought were good for the theme.  I made the sentiment on my PC and used SB Ribbon Banners to mount it.  I have cut and mounted the image with SB Long Classic and Scalloped Rectangles.  The button and twine are from my stash.  I made the border by using a MS Border Punch but just having the edge showing.  Here is another view:

You don't need to use a Sassy Studio image to enter but if you do you can enter twice.  The lucky winner will win two Sassy images.  Please go over to the challenge to see the rest of the DT for lots of inspiration!

I will catch up with you all later! Take care xx

New Release at Digital Delights

Good Morning to  you all! I had a wonderful time in Spain the weather was really warm I even made it for a swim in the sea!

Today is the first Thursday of the month which means it is time for the new releases at Digital Delights!

How much fun do these cuties look!  Here is my card:

This cute little chap is called Festive Monkey and he is available to buy here from Digital Delights. I decided to go for a Circle side step card and used my Grand Circle Nesties to cut out a large circle then I followed a tutorial for the folds, I think the tutorial was on Splitcoaststampers. I coloured him with Copics and added Stickles for some sparkle. The papers are Recollections Sugar Plum which I  bought  in Florida about five years ago!  I have used SB Labels Four to cut the image out and mat it.  The Santa and reindeer is Cheery Lynn which I have cut out with Centura Pearl. Glitter card in green and a Marianne die for the tree, Memory Box Frosty Border and CC Designs Holly and Berry.

Over at Delightful Challenges there is a new challenge starting and the theme this week is All That Glitters with a fabulous prize of $15 store voucher to Scrapyland.  Please go over to the Digital Delights Blog and see what the rest of the super talented DT have done for some brilliant inspiration.

Time To Be Thankful

Good morning and a happy weekend to you.  Hopefully I will be sunning myself in Spain when this publishes!

There is a new challenge for November at Card Makin' Mamas and the theme this month is Be Thankful.  It will be Thanksgiving later this month for our American friends so in honour of that we would like to see cards made with that in mind.  As we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK I have gone with a Thank You card but  I've done it with an Autumnal Theme:

The image and sentiment are from Unity one of their Stamp of the Weeks which I get each week but hardly ever use - no reason just never get the time!!  It has been coloured with Copics.  The paper is MME Indie Chic.  I have embossed the two white panels but no name on the embossing folder so I don't know who's it is.  The tiny borders are Cheery Lynn Tiny Expandable borders which is such a handy die to have.  I used one of my most favourite dies Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders One, I think I could use this on every card!!

Please check Card Makin' Mamas Challenge for some more inspiration and details of the sponsor I do not have these when I am writing this.

Thank you so much for looking today, I will catch up with you all on my return! Take care xx

Sparkle and Shine

Good morning to you and I hope you all survived Halloween.  We stayed in for the early trick or treaters then went out for tea and so see the film Captain Phillips which was excellent a real nail biter and had you sat on the edge of your seats, Tom Hanks was his usual excellent self.  I am writing this at 0700 as when it publishes I will be running around getting ready to leave.  I am off to Spain until Tuesday with my friend who has a villa over there and looking forward to seeing some sun and warm weather if only for a few days!

Today sees the start of the new challenge for November at A Little Bit Crafty where the theme this month is Sparkle and Shine.  Pretty obvious what it means I guess, here is my card:

The image was very kindly given to me by one of this month's sponsors Pink Gem Designs and is called Snowdrops.  I lightly coloured Snowdrops with my Copics and added Stardust Stickles to make it sparkle.  I cut the image out with Spellbinders Nesties and made a frame using mirri card and Spellbinders Exquisite Circles.  The background is Centura Pearl which has been run through a Couture Creations Tied Together Embossing folder and lots of sparkly gems added.  Sentiment stamped and cut out with a Marianne die and stamp using silver embossing powder.  Here is another view:

We have some fabulous sponsors this month:

Wow some fabulous prizes and sponsors so why not get out your glitter and bling and have a go - you have to be in it to win it!! Please pop over to A Little Bit Crafty and have a look at what the rest of the DT have done, there are some brilliant projects and lots of inspiration!

That's it from me I will have another scheduled post tomorrow.  I apologise for not coming around to see you all whilst I am away as there is no internet connection at the villa.  Thank you so much for coming to see me and any comments you leave, take care xx
