Way to Go Sharon!

Good morning to you and I hope you are well this Wednesday morning, if not I wish you a speedy recovery!  Today sees the start of a new challenge at The Paper Shelter.  This challenge will be slightly different as it will last for two weeks and the DT will not do any commenting this will enable us to have a bit of a break for summer - thank you Paper Shelter!!  The theme for this will be Anything Goes!!

A while ago a friend of mine rang me up and asked to come and see me.  She used to work alongside me when I was a Ward Manager and she was my Ward Clerk.  She is a lovely and caring person always with a smile on her face and I always used to say why don't you take up nursing but she always said she couldn't do it.  Anyway when she came to see me it was to ask for a reference to apply to become a Nurse! I was over the moon and think she'll make a brilliant nurse.  So my card today I have made for Sharon:

I have used Paper Shelter Cute Nurses available here I thought it would be perfect for her. Excellent value as you get two nurse images both coloured and not coloured and backing papers!  I have coloured my image in with Copics to look like Sharon and added Glossy Accents to the bottle.  The papers are Nitwits Tour of London.  Dies used are Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles, Dienamics Photo Corner which have been spritzed with October Afternoon Sprinkles (to look like blood lol) and Cheery Lynn Burlap (to look like bandage).  The sentiment I did on my computer.

As usual we have a fabulous prize up for offer:

Please go over to The Paper Shelter Challenge to see what the rest of the fabulously talented team have done!  You have two weeks to enter this so get cracking!!

Another Christmas Card

Good morning to you all! Hope you had a lovely weekend - don't they just fly by!  We went for a lovely walk on Friday afternoon along the seashore, splashing in the sea as we walked along! Invited my sister around for a BBQ on Saturday but first we all went down to the beach with her dogs and had a walk again.  Yesterday was cooler so managed to get some crafting done!

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Lexi's Creations and the theme this fortnight is Christmas in July.  Now I am a last minute panic kind of girl where Christmas cards are concerned so it does feel a bit weird for me to be doing so many festive cards and projects this month! Here is my card:

Slightly wishy washy picture I think!  I decided to go for a vintage type look not sure if I succeeded or not!  The picture is on my file in my pc and it is before I started putting where I got them from so I really apologise for not knowing - I do like to give credit.  I have used Spellbinders die for the mat and the snowflake.  The card was cut using a Go Create XXL die.  The paper is Pion - I finally used a piece of it (I have had it ages and never could bring myself to cut into them).  I used two rubber stamps and gold embossing powder - the music sheet is a LOTV acrylic stamp unfortunately it is starting to perish and is in about three or four pieces but I managed to use it!  The sentiment is Tickled Pink stamps.  Ribbon from The Ribbon Girl, another thing I have difficulty using - far too pretty to cut!! I have used Frantage around the card and on the snowflake and all over my craft room too - it sure blows all over the place even heating it from below.

Our sponsor this week is

I will come back later and see about some challenges.  Thank you so much for visiting and a big hello to my latest followers! Take care, Susan x

I'm Dreaming of a Pink Christmas

Good Morning to you and I hope you are all having a good week!  We had loads of fun yesterday when Max and Emma came round - sliding on the water slide and throwing water bombs! Today I am taking my Aunt out for lunch then I think we will go for an ice cream on the Sea Front at Fleetwood as it is such a lovely day!

Today is Delightful Thursday at the Digital Delights Blog and the Design Team have got some brilliant cards for inspiration!  Here is mine:

As soon as I saw this cutie I wanted to make a card for our friends in Texas!  They have about four flamingos around their pool so I knew this would make a perfect Christmas Card for them!  I have used the adorable Festive Flamingo available here from Digital Delights, the palm tree is from the Luau Accessories Set available here from Digital Delights and the sentiment is from Caroling Sentiments Set available here from Digital Delights. I have coloured the images with Copics and added Stickles and Glossy Accents so it looks like ice.  The holly is made with a CC Cutter die, the sentiment cut out with Lil' Inker Stitched Pennant and the Star Festoon banner is Whiff of Joy.

This week at

Clean and Simple

Good morning to you! A big welcome to my newest follower Denise thank you so much for following my little blog!

We had a lovely time yesterday when our friends came round. Sat in the garden and had a lovely BBQ.  Today we are going to see Dave's grandchildren Emma and Max in a school play and then they are all coming over here.  I bought a water slide for the garden so they are going to play on that and then have a BBQ - make hay whilst the sun shines I say!!

Today sees the start of a brand new challenge at The Paper Shelter Challenge and the theme this week is Clean and Simple.  Now I have really struggled with my mojo and card making since I got back from my holiday.  I am usually a month ahead with my DT cards but at the moment it is really a case of making them when they are due!! I really hate to be like this so I'm hoping it soon passes and I can get ahead again.  So I have to admit this card was so simple to make and I feel a bit like I have cheated!

Apologies for the rubbish picture I seem to have a big shadow on it!!  As I said this card was so easy to make.  I used a pre-coloured image Extreme from The Paper Shelter here.  When you purchase an image from The Paper Shelter you get a plain one to colour in in JPEG and PNG, a pre-coloured one in JPEG and PNG, a background paper and a background paper with the coloured image on it - a brilliant buy!  I opened my image in Word and then added the sentiment and the frame, changed the colour of the frame to match the image and printed out on White Linen cardstock!  I do feel I have cheated a bit but I think it does show the versatility of the images and we are all pushed for time sometimes!

I hope you have a wonderful day whatever you do! Thank you so much for calling and take care xx

No Card But Some Photos

Good morning to you all.  I am trying to post this on my I Pad which I haven't done before but now I think I have sorted out how to put pictures on so thought I would have a go!  I don't have a card today life is just getting in the way at the moment and the weather is far too nice to be stuck indoors.  We are having some friends round this afternoon for a BBQ, taking advantage of the weather whilst we can!

I have got some pictures I told with my phone when we went for our canal walk on Sunday and thought I would share them with you:

A mother swan and her two signets.

She was making sure I didn't get too close to them!

This cow was actually in the water and I thought she might get stuck, they are not the brightest animals! She managed to get out.

There was an abundance of pretty windflowers in bloom.

This is called Double Bridge, you will see why on my next picture.

And that's the lot, hope I didn't bore you, I will be back tomorrow with a card! Thanks for looking and take care xx

Mid-way Reminder

Good morning to you all, hope you had a lovely weekend!  We had a great time at the Agricultural Show on Saturday Dave's daughter, SIL and grandchildren came back and we had a BBQ and played in the garden.  Yesterday Dave and I went for a canal walk it was beautiful really pretty and so peaceful.  Its so nice to have a BBQ everyday which we have been doing and eating outside just what summer should be like!  You lucky people in climates where you can do that, here in the UK its a rare treat!!

Today I am posting a reminder that it is the mid-way mark in our challenge Die-ing for it over at A Little Bit Crafty.  Here is my card I made for it:

Mmmm think it looks a bit wishy washy personally!  With all this beautiful weather I have been struggling to craft very much as I would rather be doing something than stuck inside in my craft room! The image is a Saturated Canary Owl Always Love You which was a freebie with your order a while ago.  I coloured her with my Copics.  I have used Spellbinders Large and Scalloped Circle dies, MB Corner Bow and the bird cage is a die cut free with an order from Dies to Die For - thank you!  Ribbon and heart from The Ribbon Girls. You have about anothe two weeks to enter the challenge and there are some fab prizes up for grabs, you don't have to enter a card it can be anything crafty as long as you have used a die on it!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

One Stitch at a Time - Use a Digi
Robyn's Fetish - Things with Wings
That Craft Place - Ribbon and/or Lace
The Squirrel and The Fox - Use Something Spooled
Crafty Friends - Inspired by a Song will it will have to be I will Always Love you by Dolly Parton as the image is called Owl Always Love You!

What's in the Package???

Good morning to you all! Happy weekend hope you have something nice planned for it or maybe some lovely chilling time?

I had a great time yesterday seeing my friends for lunch and a great old chin wag and it was lovely to able to sit outside whilst we ate!  One of my friends celebrates her 60th birthday in a few weeks. She is having a big party with a marquee, waiters, band, ice sculpture and caricaturist - I can hardly wait! As she is going on holiday on Thursday and will be away for her birthday I had to give her birthday card to her yesterday.  I wasn't sure what to make - it had to be funny but I didn't want to put 60 on the front of it.  I remembered this image I had bought from Redonkadoodles (used to be Redonkulous) and thought it would be a bit naughty but nice!  Here it is:

I cut the gift box out in my photo editing software and then erased it from the image too.  I then put the gift box on one of those springy things so it bounces around.  Here is another view:

I coloured the image with Copics added Glossy Accents to his glasses and some Stickles to his teeth so they are really shiny IRL!  The papers are Raspberry Road Watermelon patch.  Used my Spellbinders Grand Nestie Ovals and Scalloped Ovals, SB circles and Edgeabilities.  The sentiment I made on the computer I wanted to make some reference to it being a special birthday so thought this filled the bill.  I made a matching box too but didn't photograph that but its exactly the same layout as the card.  As I have said before my friends are not crafty in the least so they will definitely not be looking at my blog!

We are going to the Agricultural Show at Great Eccleston today with Dave's daughter and family.  Should be good fun I remember taking my children when they were younger and had such a good time, the weather is certainly perfect for it!

Thanks for looking and have a great day whatever you are up to! Take care xx

Delightful Snow

Good morning and I can't believe its Friday again!  These weeks are whizzing by goodness me!  I hope everyone in the UK is ready for our heat wave that's about to start - whoop whoop.  Now for all you bloggers in other parts of the world when we say heat wave in the UK we mean we will reach the dizzying heights of 75 for us in the northwest and those in the south 81!!! But when its usually in the 50/60s you can see why we get excited!!

For today's card I have used a real cutie from Digital Delights which has just been released:

I went for a CAS style with this one.  The image is Delightful Snow from Digital Delights.  I coloured her with Copics and cut her out.  I printed the toadstool and sentiment directly onto linen cardstock and coloured with my Copics, I was a bit worried that it may bleed but I was careful and it didn't!  You get all three in a set here.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut the aperture for Delightful Snow to sit on and placed some cloud paper behind (it was on my desk not sure the make but it was a digital.

Have you anything nice planned for the weekend?  Its my birthday tomorrow so I am having a BBQ and my daughter her partner and my sister are coming around.  Whatever you are up to have a fabulous time! Thank you so much for looking, take care xx

Die-ing For It!

Good morning and a Happy July to you! We are now officially half way through the year - gosh better remember where I stashed all my Christmas crafty stuff at this rate!!  As it is the first of the month we have a brand new challenge at A Little Bit Crafty.  This month we have a brilliant challenge that I am sure you will all want to join in - Die-ing For It! So you just need to get your favourite dies out and get crafting - really they don't need to be your favourites as long as we can see you have used a die that's all we need! Remember it can be any crafty project it doesn't have to be a card.  I have made a card and here it is:

The lovely Krista from Saturated Canary is one of our fab sponsors this week and I was delighted to be able to pick an image so I chose this scrummy one called Princess Rose Red.  She has been coloured with Copics and Prismas.  I have added Stickles to be bodice but you really can't see it on this photo but IRL it is very shimmery, also added Glossy Accents to those gorgeous eyes.  The papers are from MME called Blush with Coredinations card stock and some Centura Pearl.  Now for the dies I used -  Cheery Lynn Polynesian Sails framing the image.  Marianne Birdhouse and Bird, Sizzix for the Heart Slider and MB Phlox for the flower and leaf.  I have used Aged Rose Frantage on the metal WOC corner embellishment, slider and flower centre and leaf.  The gems and ribbon are from my stash.

We really have some fabulous sponsors this month:
