Insomnia

Well I am writing this at 3 in the morning insomnia is a wonderful thing! I have been awake since 2 so I thought I might as well get up and do something productive lol!!  Here is a card I made a while back:

The image is an Inkadinkado stamp which I have coloured with Copics and some Prisma Pencils.  I have distressed around the edges with some Antique Linen DI.  Can't remember who the papers are by, if I remember I will have a look in the daylight.  I have used my Dienamics Bracket die for the border which you can just see. The flower and butterfly are Memory Box, I added the bow from the MB Hearts die.  The lace, pearls, cloth brad and ribbon are all from my stash.  Sentiment is Craftwork Cards from some candy I won from Kath a while back - thank you!!

Cleo passed away very peacefully yesterday, my husband was with her as I had gone to see my aunt.  We have buried her in the garden with a fairy looking over her.  Although it was very difficult to do I am so glad we did it as she was able to stay in her home and we could see that she benefited from being with us surrounded by love and attention.  In the space of less than three weeks we have lost two dearly loved cats.  One was a complete surprise as he was our youngest and although Cleo was 17 she was very fit until about a month ago.  Poor Harry is looking a bit lost now you just don't know what they are thinking, although they were never all the best of pals I am sure they must miss each other.

I am hoping to resume my crafting today nothing like a bit of crafty therapy to help take your mind of things.  Thanks for all your kind words regarding Cleo and my new DT post you are all so wonderful,  although we don't know each other personally, its so nice to have friends all over the world!  Thank you for looking today and take care xx

Exciting News!!

Just a quick post to say that I was so surprised and delighted to have been chosen to join The Paper Shelter DT! I was over the moon and so surprised.  I am really looking forward to working with their images as I really like them.  To anyone who applied and was unsuccessful I would say please don't be put off as this was the second time I applied so it pays to persevere!

I did want to post a card I made last week but I have been so busy I have not had chance to photograph it yet!  I will be back tomorrow when normal service will resume!!  Thanks for visiting and take care xx

Missing in Action!

Sorry I have not been around the last few days.  My son, DIL and two delicious grandsons came up unexpectedly for the weekend so it has been one big whirl!  Also my seventeen year old cat Cleo who has kidney failure has been failing.  As she does not look to be suffering we both wanted her to die peacefully at home surrounded by love and care so we have been busy with her also.  So I am sorry but I have not had time to visit you as I have been so exhausted.  Will catch up today.

There is so much going on at the moment I really need to get organised.  It is my aunt's birthday - 91 today so I need to get an insert for her card sorted, she thinks the words are more important than the picture so I need to find a good verse - quickly!

I will be back later with some exciting news!!  Welcome to my newest followers and a big thank you to them.  See you later and take care xx

Monochromatic

Good morning and a big welcome to Lorraine my newest follower!

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Lexi's Creations and the theme for this challenge is Monochromatic.  I have gone for white and silver:

This was really hard to photo and this is the best I could do.  The sentiment is from Lexi and is available at Fairydust Crafts. I have used an embossing folder on the white card which you can see at the top but I can assure you it is all over!  I used Silver mirri card for the embellishments.  The border die in silver is Spellbinders and below that I have used a Cheery Lynn one in white.  The bow swirl is a Memory Box die and so is the butterfly.  I have made a frame around the sentiment using Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight.  The heart is a Marianne die and I have put silver mirri card behind it but it doesn't show up too well.

Our sponsor this week is:

Please go over to Lexi's Creations and see what the rest of the fabulous DT have created and why not join in the fun???

Colour My World

Good Morning everyone from a sunny Blackpool here in the Northwest of England.  Wendy from Digital Delights asked for some samples for a new stamp set she had designed, here is what I did:

I had so much fun colouring her with my Copics.  The sentiment comes with the image and you can get it either plain or coloured.  The paper is My Mind's Eye Fly a Kite and I have used Grand Nesties Circles and Scalloped Circles to cut and mat the image.  I printed the sentiment out straight onto the card, it does have a box around it but I removed that in my editing software.  Just a plain and simple card but I think it works well how it is.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Colour Me Creative - Girly or Feminine Image
Raise the Bar - Free
Simply Create Too - Mother's Day or Female
Sweet Pea Stampers - Use a Digital Stamp
Wags 'n Whiskers - Love

Sew Here's Another Card!

Good morning and I hope you all had a good weekend.  We had a fairly quiet one just a spot of shopping on Saturday and yesterday we went for dinner at my husband's daughter and son in law, had a nice catch up with them and Emma and Max.

Mr Mojo seems to have taken a back seat with me lately and I am struggling to make cards, I want to but then nothing seems to materialise.  I am making 50 party invitations for my friend so I got cracking on those over the weekend doing all the cutting and bow making etc so I am quite pleased with my progress so far.  I also wanted to make some card inserts and have never been able to get the hang of it so I watched some videos on You Tube and finally managed by using a Text Box.  The only thing is the sentiment is in a box if anyone knows how to do it without having the box around it I would love to know!  Finally here is a card:

For some reason I seem to have a pink rosy glow on this which I assure you there isn't!  I have used an image from Pink Gem which comes with the sentiment.  The papers are by MME "Paris and Co.". The dress form die and needle and thread die are Memory Box, I inked the dress form with some Vintage Photo.  The buttons are made with a Dienamics die and the ribbon and twine are from my stash.

Thank you for looking I really appreciate that you take the time out to come and see me!  See you tomorrow, take care xx

Oh So Simple

Good morning I am up bright and early, been awake since 4 so I thought I may as well be up in my craft room than tossing and turning!

Today's card is a very simple one made with one of my favourite stamps.  Its funny how we have stamps and digis that we have bought and then never used but others that are old favourites and we love to use!

The stamp is a Penny Black one that I have had a few years, I stamped it in Versafine on white llinen card and added a bit of Stardust Stickles to the flower heads.  I then cut some black card with Dienamics bracket die and embossed it (you can just see the embossing on the left).  I matted it on some black card and added the twine and button.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Valentine/Love

Good morning bloggers, well I blinked and that was the weekend over! These Mondays do come round with some speed don't they?  Today we have a brand new challenge at Lexi's Creations and the theme is Valentine/Love just perfect for this time of year.

I have gone for something that I always love when I see other bloggers doing it but I have only ever done one before so this is my second time.  I have taken a lot of inspiration from Alison's blog The Great Leveller as she does these so beautifully.

The sentiment is by Lexi and you can purchase it at Fairydust Crafts here.  I printed it onto white linen card and then cut it out with a Nellie Snellen heart die.  I added a pearl string around the edge.  The butterfly, flower on the right, lattice and border are all  Cheery Lynn dies.  The other two flowers are Spellbinders.  The lace, brad and pearls are all from my stash.  You can't really see it in the picture but the card behind the lattice is so pretty its a white brocade pearlised card.  My husband kindly pointed out that the sentiment is wonky oh well he better get used to it because I think I will probably give him this card!!

Our sponsor this week is:

Louis

Thank you so much for all your kind words regarding my cat Louis.  We took him back to the vet yesterday and he had further blood tests and an x ray.  They were going to sedate him for the  x ray but he was too ill and it would have been too risky but they managed to do it without sedation.  The x ray showed a large tumour surrounding his liver and the blood tests showed that in the two days since his last one he had become even more anaemic.  The vet told us he had about 24 hours left to live.  I wanted to bring him home to be in his own home but the vet advised us that it would not be a good idea so with a very heart we had him put to sleep yesterday afternoon.

I cannot believe how quickly this has happened just two and a half weeks ago I was scolding him for jumping on the kitchen workshop to try and eat the Sunday roast!  He was a rescue cat and originally my daughters but when she had an episode of her illness 5 and a half years ago he came to live with us and then stayed with us.  He was a huge cat but the most gentlest cat, he never scratched or tried to bite even when Harrison was loving him!  He would come up to my craft room and make himself cosy on top of whatever I was doing:

Take care xx
