Anything goes at CMM

Good morning bloggers hope you are ok and hopefully I am! We have a brand new challenge at Card Makin' Mamas and this is everyone's favourite: Anything Goes!!  Here is my card -

I have gone for a CAS style.  I have used a fab image from our sponsor's this week Squiggle Stamps which is called, aptly, Owlies.  I have coloured the image with my Copics and also paper pieced the lower part of their bodies but it really doesn't show up that well!  The papers are by Fancy Pants called Country Boutique.  The image has been cut and matted using Spellbinders Nesties.  The hearts and banner die and sentiment are from Lil' Inker Designs. I have packed this to give to my DH as it is our anniversary whilst we are on holiday.

Please pop over the Card Makin' Mamas Blog and see what the rest of the talented DT have made.  Remember, we are a card making blog so we want to see your cards!!

Thanks for looking, take care xx

Stitching Real or Faux

Good morning bloggers from sunny Florida!! Well actually I am here in Blackpool still but I am scheduling this so when you are reading it, if Mr Blogger behaves, I will be in Florida. Today sees the start of a brand new challenge at Delightful Challenges and the theme this week is:

STITCHING - REAL OR FAUX

Well my sewing machine is jammed and I really haven't had the time to sit down and find the on line manual to sort it out so I have added some faux stitching to my card:

I have used Joyful Jamie which is available to purchase here from Digital Delights.  She has been coloured with Copics and glitter to her wings.  I have cut her out with a SB Nestie and distressed the edges with Antique Linen DI.  The papers are by Memory Box called Pixie and I have also used some glitter card from my fabulous 12 x 12 pad of glitter papers my daughter bought me last time we were in Florida together.  The snowflakes and holly are all done with Spellbinders dies and the poinsettia is a Marianne die.  The sentiment is from Wendy's Caroling Sentiments Set which is available to purchase here. The gem, lace and ric rak are from my stash.

Please pop over to Delightful Challenges and see what the rest of the Design Team have made for lots of inspiration. Remember you don't have to use a Digital Delights image to enter but we love it if you do and then you can enter it twice!!

Thanks for looking I'm off now in search of a roller coaster lol!! Take care xx

Christmas Baubles

Good morning and happy weekend to you all! This is the last post I am doing before my holidays, I have scheduled all my DT cards for whilst we are away.  Although we will have internet access and I am taking my I Pad I will not have time to comment whilst away so apologies for not coming round to see you all after today - I will look forward to catching up on all your lovely creations when I get back!

I have done a card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  I have not done a card for this challenge since it went to a monthly format but I saw such a pretty card on Lorraine's blog here which she had done for it and as it is a sketch I thought I just had to have a play!!

I have used the baubles image from the Penny Black A Bright Tomorrow set and the sentiment is from the Penny Black Merry and Bright Sentiment pack.  I have coloured the image with Copics and cut and matted with Circle Nesties.  The edge behind the image is actually border die - Spellbinders Ironworks - Debby showed how to do this on her blog A Scrapjourney. Oops just realised that picture is very wonky!! The papers are Nitwits Tapestry Christmas.  The bell is a die from CC Designs and the sentiment is cut from a Spellbinder banner die.

I'll leave you with a picture of my favourite ride The Incredible Hulk at Islands of Adventure:

Thanks for looking, see you all in a couple of weeks and take care xxx

Tommy Hilfiger Christmas!

Good morning bloggers and a big welcome to my new followers - thank you so much for joining me!  I have made a Christmas card for the Runway Inspired Challenge this week.

A fairly CAS type of card.  I have used my Marianne die to make a poinsettia using Pink Petticoat digital paper.  The sentiment is from Penny Black their Christmas Cheer Sentiments, it looks a bit pink in the picture but it isn't IRL!  The button is from the Ribbon Girl.  Here is the inspiration picture:

Wish I was lovely and tall like that!! I have used the colours and the stripes for my inspiration and also the button in the centre of the flower.

Well only two more sleeps til Florida!! I am getting so excited, can hardly wait. My brother moved to Florida last year from Chicago so we are going to see him whilst we are there. He has 6 children and I have only ever seen one of them when he was a tiny baby, the eldest is now 21 so it will be wonderful to see them!

Thanks for visiting today and a big thank you to my newest followers, take care xx

Christmas Tilda

Good morning bloggers from a wet and wild Blackpool this morning! I don't think I will be moving far from my craft room today lol!! I know I am not the only one who has loads of stamps that have never been used, you buy them because you love them and then they get stuck away somewhere or put in some file on your computer and there they languish! I saw this stamp and just had to have it because I do like Tildas but this one had a cat on it - perfect! Now I bought some Christmas Tildas last year and still haven't used them and I bought a mermaid Tilda in the summer because I love mermaids and never got round to using that so I was determined this one would be used!! Here she is:

She has been coloured with Copics. The papers are Pion - now I love these papers Teresa from Crafting All Day Creations uses them all the time and they are gorgeous, I have bought quite a few now but I could never bring myself to cut them - I know I'm sad.  The image has been cut with my Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight and I have added Shabby White Frantage EP and Frantage Glass Glitter to the edges and along the bottom is Frantage Shaved Ice. Behind the image I have used the large motif from the SB Ironworks and added more Frantage to that.  I have then made a Poinsettia with Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia die and added some of the elements from Tim Holtz Festive Garland - all have had the Frantage treatment!! I have used some lace and organza ribbon from my stash as were the flat back pearls.  For the star I have used a Dienamics die and added Frantage Blue Glass Glitter.  Here is a side view:

Mmmm how delish are those papers - wish I hadn't cut them now lol!!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Tilda's Town - Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland 19/10
Simon Says Stamp - Diecuts or Punches 17/10

I have used Spellbinders Nesties to cut him out and then distress with some DI.  I have used some orange glitter card for the mat and one of the new Nesties - Exquisite Circles.   The spider and bat are Memory Box dies and the skyline is a Dienamics die with more glitter card behind.  The paper is from Fancy Pants from the October 31 collection ( I am trying soooo hard to use some of my paper hoard up).  The ribbon, twine and charm are from my stash.

Sketch at Delightful

Good Morning everyone and a big welcome to my new followers!  Today sees the start of a new challenge at Delightful Challenges and the theme this week is:

SKETCH

Yes that's right we have a sketch for you to use. I just love using sketches I think they make everything so easy as you don't have to plan where to put everything and what to use!  Here is what I have made:

I have used this little cutie from the Fall Kids Set which is available to purchase from Digital Delights here.  The little dog also comes with the set and I have cut him out and added him onto the edge of the mat. You also get a little boy in the set - great value. I have coloured the images with my Copics. The sentiment is from Digital Delights from the Birthday Sentiments Set which is available here to purchase also good value as you get eight sentiments and also a frame to put them in! The papers are from Paper Doodle Deux by Prima and the buttons are October Afternoon.  I have used Grand Nesties Circles and also Nesties Large Rectangles for the image, making a faux Nestie behind it.  The bow was made from my Lil' Inker Die (love this!) and the twine and brad are from my stash.  Here is an image of the sketch:

As you can see I have followed it exactly!  We would love to see your creations and you don't have to use a Digital Delights image to enter but we love it if you do and then your entry can be entered twice!  Please pop over to Delightful Challenges to see what my talented team mates have done for some further inspiration!  Our sponsor this week is:

and they will be giving the lucky winner a $20 store gift card!

I'd like to say a big thank you for all the messages of support I have had over the last few months about my daughter.  The new medication she started several weeks ago has worked a treat and she is now going to return home tomorrow.  It is such a relief for me and our family to see her back to normal and able to continue with her life.  A big thank you to Nishe, her partner, who has been a huge support to her when it must have been very difficult for him.  I am going on holiday a week on Sunday and so everything has worked out well as I had made arrangements for her to be looked after whilst I was away but it was still going to be such a huge worry for me.  I am hoping to be able to return to regular blogging once I finish my holidays - I have two on the trot - two weeks in Florida then back for three days then girly week in Las Vegas!!  Thanks for looking, take care xx
